Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a passive style. There is no warm up because we want to keep the surface muscles switched off to access the joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. We hold postures for a certain length of time and depending on the theme of the sequence, similar to acupuncture, we target certain meridian channels affecting particular organs. In doing so, we flush out any stagnant energy, creating space for renewed fresh energy to flow through these deeper parts of the body and organs, enhancing overall bodily functions, circulation, strength, stability and flexibility all at the same time. An opportunity to also develop greater introspective awareness and the virtues of surrender and acceptance as we continuously gauge our personal range of motion and work to our own personal edge. A therapeutic practice in it's own right, developing inner calm and peace as we gradually settle deeper into the body through each posture.
